Why We Discontinue Products

At Kaged, we’re proud of every single product we’ve made. However, due to a host of reasons, sometimes we have to say goodbye to some.

We live by our slogan: Never Stop Evolving. This ethos drives us to continuously innovate, creating new products that empower you to train harder, live healthier, and achieve your goals.

Sometimes, we discontinue products because we believe we’ve made a stronger alternative, or created a stack that can render it less effective.

For example, we made Pre-Kaged Elite in 2022 (which will be renamed Pre-Workout Elite in 2024) because many customers said they didn’t want to take a pre-workout and an intra-workout supplement. They wanted both in one product. With this, our intra-workout supplement In-Kaged became less popular and, well, not necessary.

Other times, we discontinue products for logistical and business reasons. As we’ve grown, we’ve leaned into the products that you, the customers, have told us you love most. We’ve doubled down our efforts on those products. Focusing our attention on those means sacrificing our efforts on other products.

When we work with manufacturers to make our products, we must put in minimum orders. If we’re not receiving enough orders on a regular basis, then it puts us in a difficult position. We must either choose to divert our limited bandwidth to promote them more or discontinue the product.

Sometimes, we’ve chosen the former. Other times, we’ve discontinued the product to keep our focus on the ones our customers love most.

Here’s our full list of discontinued products. If one of these was a go-to for you, we’ll give you suggestions for a new stack.

In-Kaged

When we started Kaged back in 2015, In-Kaged was one of our original products as part of the pre-intra-post stack, along with Pre-Kaged and Re-Kaged.

If you use In-Kaged now, we have two suggestions.

If you take both Pre-Kaged and In-Kaged then switch to Pre-Workout Elite, our latest pre-workout with higher doses of key ingredients than the original Pre-Kaged. One scoop of Pre-Workout Elite will allow you to train longer and harder, without losing steam.*

The only ingredient you’ll miss out on are the BCAAs. If you want BCAAs before or during your workout, you can use our unflavored plant-based BCAAs that are easy to stack with flavored Kaged products like Pre-Workout Elite or Hydra-Charge.

The second suggestion is to swap out In-Kaged for Pre-Kaged Sport. The ingredient profiles have a ton of similarities. They have 3g and 3.5g of L-Citrulline respectively, 1.6g of CarnoSyn® Beta-Alanine, and 500mg of L-Tyrosine. Their caffeine content is also similar, with 124mg for In-Kaged and 188mg for Pre-Kaged Sport.

With Pre-Kaged Sport, you’ll miss out on the BCAAs, but you’ll get additional B vitamins, electrolytes, an extra gram of taurine and BetaPower® betaine.  

Amino Synergy (With Caffeine and Stimulant-Free)

Amino Synergy was our essential amino acid matrix designed to help prevent muscle breakdown by giving your muscles the amino acids it needs.

A great alternative to this is to add our unflavored BCAAs to our delicious Hydra-Charge formula.

Recent research has shown that leucine is the key amino acid for fighting muscle protein breakdown, and our BCAAs contain 50% leucine.

If you’re looking for the caffeine boost, you can grab our caffeine pills, or switch altogether to a pre-workout like Pre-Kaged, which also contains 6.5g of BCAAs.

Casein

Casein protein is a slow-digesting protein. Typically, it’s used as a before-bed protein because it provides you with a sustained release of amino acids over several hours. This is in contrast to whey protein, which digests quickly.

If you loved Casein, we offer the perfect replacement: Kaged Protein Isolate Elite.

This latest protein contains three forms of protein: ioWhey Protein™ Isolate, milk protein isolate, and micellar casein isolate. These proteins all digest at different rates, giving you the sustained amino acid release you’re looking for.

Hydra-Charge Amped

Over the last few years, Hydra-Charge has emerged as our most popular product. If you like Hydra-Charge Amped, simply grab Hydra Charge along with our 200mg Organic Caffeine Pills, which provide the same exact dose of caffeine as we had in Hydra-Charge Amped.

L-Carnitine

L-Carnitine is an amino acid that has shown to help burn fat as fuel by shuttling it into the mitochondria.* However, we’ve come to believe that if your goal is to burn fat, L-Carnitine alone won’t be the most effective stack.

That’s why in one of our most popular products, Clean Burn, we include 1500mg of the same high-quality Carnipure®  L-Carnitine along with other ingredients to support metabolism, increase thermogenesis, and give you clean energy.*

If your goal is healthy weight loss, then add Clean Burn to your stack.*

Plantein

Plantein was our vegan protein made from pea protein. If you took Plantein for lactose intolerance reasons, then our Whey Protein Isolate and Re-Kaged proteins are ultrafiltered and contain a negligible amount of lactose. Either of these proteins can be a great substitute.

If you’re a vegan, unfortunately we don’t have any other protein substitutes.

Clean Meal (Temporary)

We received a lot of feedback about the taste of Clean Meal, and we’re working on reformulating the product to give you an incredible meal replacement made with the cleanest ingredients that also tastes absolutely incredible.

In the meantime, if you’re looking to create a great meal replacement on your own, consider adding oats and a banana to chocolate Whey Protein Isolate.

It won’t be as convenient as Clean Meal, but it’ll add the clean carbohydrates to support optimal recovery.

Clean Burn Capsules (Temporary)

Due to advancements in research on various ingredients in the realm of healthy weight management, we’re currently working on re-formulating our Clean Burn Capsules to stay on the cutting edge.

For now, our powdered version of Clean Burn is a great substitute.
